What are Software Engineers at Capital One?
Our Software Engineers create the solutions that define the way we work and what we do. Put simply, they create and use the tech that help us to find the right credit for every customer. This is your opportunity to get a flavour of what sets us apart.
What you’ll do
You’ll hone your skills in everything from APIs to mobile, big data and cyber security – basically, you’ll get a masterclass in software engineering and gain insights into how it enables us to support our customers.
You might build solutions in the Cloud using open source technologies with a view to reimagining our business. Or you could learn how automated testing provides the quality that keeps us speedy and fast-paced.
After a year with us, you’ll have gained experience across a couple of teams, made a real impact on our customers. Plus you’ll have learned a lot about how software engineering works in industry.
On top of your technical expertise, you'll also have had great experiences working with experts up to Director level through collaborative design and the features you build.
What you’ll need
You don’t need to be on a Computer Science degree course, but you’ll need to be able to code in any language. You’ll also need to be studying a degree that requires a year working in industry. But we don’t expect you to be an accomplished developer – just enthusiastic and a quick learner.
