Engineering Placement

In the UK, we offer 12-months placement - starting 1st September 2021 - opportunities to undergraduate students looking to gain practical experience within a vibrant and innovative industrial setting. As part of the scheme, you will be partnered with a mentor, have regular reviews with your Line Manager and work on projects that impact the business.

Training and development is provided throughout the placement with successful applicants having multiple opportunities to develop transferable skills in addition to gaining ‘hands on’ experience in a technical discipline.

As part of the scheme students get a chance to cultivate their independent thinking and problem solving skills in addition to working in and contributing to a team. Cross functional/department working and participation in other research activities is also encouraged, where appropriate. Previous work experience in a practical ‘hands-on’ role would be useful but not essential.

Roles

Multiple engineering roles will be available. Each of these roles presents interns the opportunity to apply and develop knowledge and skills from their degree in an engineering discipline.

Responsibilities may include:

• Project planning and execution.
• Playing a key technical role, working on real products and solving real problems
• Working in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Product testing
• Analysis of data and making recommendations

Requirements

• Be undertaking an industrial sandwich degree course
• A relevant undergraduate degree (Engineering, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Material Science or other relevant subject area) with a minimum predicted grade of 2:1
• The right to live and work in the UK
• IT skills e.g. use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Have strong communication and presentation/report writing skills.
• Be self-motivated to work both independently and in a team.
• Be a creative thinker and problem solver.
• Have a can do attitude and drives for results.
