This role is suited to students entering their second year of university in September 2020.

Business and Supply Chain Industrial Placement

Supply chain management is all about ensuring we can supply our life-saving and life-enhancing products to people around the globe. Making sure that the right products arrive at the right time in the right place is no easy task!

We offer a wide variety of supply chain placements, from forecasting demand, production planning, raw materials management, to warehousing and supply chain logistics. Wherever you are based, you’ll be getting stuck in and playing a key part in ensuring our products reach our patients and consumers in an efficient and timely manner.

During your placement you could be involved in a range of activities, such as:

  • Project management – leading and delivering improvement projects
  • Working with suppliers, customers and colleagues from around the world
  • Data analysis and reporting
  • Distribution chains for complex products that require changing temperature for sensitive goods
  • Demand review (including gathering and understanding market intelligence on forecasts and supply chain complexities)
  • Inventory management
  • Building strong relationships with key third party suppliers
  • Working with suppliers, customers and colleagues from around the world.
  • Support NPI / capital projects as customer rep, including design development, factory acceptance testing, installation, validation, commissioning and associated documentation.
  • Support Compliance with QMS / Group Quality Policies (G.Q.P.’s), EHS policies and Site Procedures.
  • Ensure the area is continually in an audit ready state and fully compliant with Quality and Health and Safety Standards, support the area during audits.
  • Update Safety and Quality system / Database.
  • Complete actions arising from Audits, local improvement initiatives, project plans.
  • Liaise with Contractors on matters concerning work / projects.
  • Raise and Manage Engineering Change Control (ECC’s), Method Statements and staff briefing notes.
  • Attend Quality/EHS meetings and present data / updates to area.
  • Support the effective use of the Operational Support budget.
  • Support OE activities
  • Purchase Warehouse Consumables (uniform, stationery, equipment etc)
  • Maintenance of Davis Derby Truck Safety System
  • Maintenance of Inventory database
