This year (2018, just in case you were wondering), we were ranked third in The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers. While we’re very proud of the achievement, we also know that it’s down to our usual style of hard work. Which is why if you’re just looking for a year out of uni, then you probably shouldn’t apply. But, if you’re a proactive, brave and inquisitive student, then this could be the ideal opportunity for you.
Our General Management Programme has been causing quite a stir on campus in recent years. It’s a fast-paced introduction to the reality of how we tick, what we’re made of and how we’ve transformed into one of the world’s most successful retailers. You’ll be on rotations across store and office environments so you can see both sides of the business, and how one depends on the other. You’ll roll up your sleeves, doing everything from stacking shelves to organising resources and taking the keys to a store. It’s a brilliant introduction to life as an Area Manager, perfectly setting you up for our award-winning Graduate Programme after you finish uni.
While you’re learning about us, you’ll also learn about yourself. You’ll discover if you panic and run for the hills when you’re given the keys to a store, or if you rise to the challenge and lead your store to glory. Yes, it’s demanding, but you’ll just see it as another opportunity to prove your worth. By having done your homework on Aldi – and the market we operate in – you’ll come to us excited by the challenges we face. In return, we’ll reward you well. In fact, you’ll receive £25,000 for your 12 months here, and have 4 weeks’ holiday allowance (plus bank holidays).
To earn your placement, you’ll be working towards a 2:1 in any discipline on a sandwich degree course. You’ll also have a minimum of 96 UCAS points (240 if using the old tariff) from your top 3 A-levels (excluding general studies). Please note we also accept 63 Scottish Highers (150 points if using the old tariff) as an equivalent to UCAS points. It’s important you have the right to work in the UK. Plus, you’ll also need a full driving licence and access to a car.
Aldi is one of the most reputable retailers in the global business market today. With a simple goal of providing great value and quality, using leaner and smarter business processes, we’re a supermarket that’s getting it right. We’re winning all kinds of awards and new stores are springing up all over the country as we rapidly increase our market share.
