Software Development Associate Engineer Placement

SAP Concur is looking for passionate, motivated and articulate second year students, currently on track for a 2:1 degree with a keen interest in working in a faced-paced, exciting, high tech environment. The Role

As a Software Development Associate Engineer you will be working in the SAP Concur engineer labs, supporting multiple agile teams with a key focus on delivering strategic business goals. Key responsibilities include developing working prototypes that help demonstrate innovations falling within the SAP Intelligent Enterprise strategy. You will assist in implementing and delivering high performance micro-services, whilst working collaboratively with team members both locally and across regional and global Research and Development Labs. There is opportunity to provide new ideas and approached to existing implementations and liaise with customers and product owners to understand and deliver system requirements. Throughout your placement you will gain adept technical skills including Java, REST web services, Spring, Junit, Functional-Programming, JavaScript, SQL-Server, Git, CI/CD

Role Requirements

  • Studying a software engineering degree or a computer science degree
  • Understanding of at least one modern programming language (ideally Java, Javascript)
  • Willingness to understand complex business needs and propose innovative solutions
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and across offices
  • Experience of defining and implementing web user interfaces would be beneficial but not paramount
