Digital Marketing Assistant Placement

Our mission is twofold.

1. To run the day-to-day operations for Panasonic UK on all our web platforms for all our products and the Panasonic brand as a whole

2. To create ideas, explore new opportunities and drive innovation in marketing, with a focus on digital, for the whole consumer products division.

We’re a small team with big targets and an even bigger ambition. You’ll be an integral part of the team and will have the freedom to think of new ideas, improve existing platforms and marketing activities, be creative and run projects end to end.

It’s your chance to make a difference!

That’s great! I’m interested. Tell me more!

We work across all our products. So, you’ll be working on everything from cameras to TVs to microwaves to wireless speakers to beauty care products. If you like variety, you’ve come to the right place.

You’ll be exposed to all aspects of digital marketing from the website, to social media, to influencer marketing, to paid advertising, to newsletters, to managing communities, to working with retailers and direct e-commerce.

And as we’re part of a wider Brand Communications team, you’ll also be working on broader brand based activities and projects with other disciplines like PR, advertising and events and with our range of external partners and agencies.

Is that just me then?

We’re hiring for two Digital Marketing Assistant roles. Both of you will be working closely together across a range of responsibilities (some of which are detailed below). Each of you will have your own individual responsibilities, which you will own, and will help each other and the rest of the business out on other aspects.

Ok. So what are the primary job responsibilities?

Across both roles, the main focus areas will be:

1. Managing social media for our LUMIX range of cameras:

Our interchangeable lens cameras are one of the most important products within the Panasonic portfolio and as a result we have dedicated social media channels for them. Instagram is the most important one and we’ve got some big targets on this platform.

Your responsibilities will be to take ownership of the social channels for LUMIX, create content plans, find stories, grow the channels, raise engagement, work with influencers and ambassadors, attend events, run competitions, carry out competitor analysis and everything else to make LUMIX social the most picturesque channel on Instagram.

You will also be contributing to the running of our LUMIX Experience community and the amplification and execution across our range of partnerships on LUMIX like The National Trust, Natural History Museum, Olympic Games, VICE Film School and more.

2. Managing content on our range of Kitchen products:

Our other key range of products are our cooking and baking products which includes microwaves and breadmakers. To bring these to life we have The Ideas Kitchen recipe website and a dedicated Instagram channel.

You will own all aspects of content and marketing across these properties. This includes working with our home economist on creating recipes, managing The Ideas Kitchen website on a day-to-day basis, working with our SEO agency to optimise the site and grow traffic, create and send out the monthly Ideas Kitchen newsletter, grow and develop the Instagram channel, create content plans, work closely with the PR team on activations, carry out competitor analysis and anything else that makes our kitchen products delicious and appealing to our audience on digital platforms.

3. Driving the growth on our Beauty social channels:

The third key pillar of Panasonic’s future strategy is our range of Beauty and Grooming products. One of the primary responsibilities of this role is to own, manage and drive the growth of our dedicated Instagram account for our Beauty products.

You will manage the channel, create content plans, work with our PR agency to manage influencers and on PR activations, carry out competitor analysis and find ways to make our Beauty Instagram the envy of other beauty brands.

4. Managing the main Panasonic social channels:

Along with the new dedicated channels, these roles will also be responsible for the running and growth of our main Panasonic social channels. These are across Facebook and Twitter primarily and focus on our TVs, audio products, home phones and more while also including the categories above.

Your responsibilities will be to elevate the quality of the content on these channels, find stories to make these products more appealing and giving people a reason to care about our products.

5. Digital Team Activities:

Beyond this you will be expected to contribute to all other digital marketing initiatives. We are a creative team and we want ideas! Show me you can do it, and you will get the opportunity to work on it or lead it and introduce a real change in the way we do things.

So, what are we looking for?

  • We’re looking for someone who can take initiative and find solutions. You’ll have lots of responsibilities and we’re a small team. You’ll have all the support you need, so the onus is on you to make the best use of it. Show us you can do it, and we’ll let you take the lead on it.
  • Ability to think critically and analyse activities to see what worked, what didn’t and what we can improve. You don’t need to be an Excel whizz, as long as you are comfortable with numbers, working on excel and critical analysis.
  • We’re looking for ideas all the time. Creativity is important in the team.
  • Close attention to detail to ensure that while the ideas are great creatively, they also come across in execution.
  • “Team” is the buzzword we operate with. There are a lot of responsibilities in a small team and we are expected to lead the digital thought within the business. You should be able to work well with different people and deliver results.
  • You’ll be working with a lot of different people at different levels both internally and at our agencies and partners. You’ll need strong communications skills to help you push ideas through.
  • And to manage all your responsibilities, we’re looking for you to be good at managing your time.

  • Employee discounted Panasonic products
  • 25 days holiday per annum, plus UK Bank Holidays
  • Performance-based bonus (up to 15% of annual salary)
