Technical Support Engineer
Join a dynamic team of customer facing technical experts, driven by their desire to help clients to get the most out of the latest SAP technologies such as SAP HANA and SAP Cloud Platform. The job involves covering 2nd/3rd line support, dealing with complex customer scenarios, engaging with development to collaborate on knowledge management and issue resolution.
The Technical Support Engineer student will work with the biggest Fortune 500 customers running SAP in the cloud, with big data landscapes and Analytics/Reporting solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to think independently and to apply effective problem solving skills
- Perform root cause analysis and provide solutions in complex environments
- Recommend known technical solutions and develop workarounds for new problems
- Assist customers with performance and scalability issues
- Active involvement within the internal social/business networking suite SAP JAM
- Foster positive customer relationships using verbal and written communication
- Contribute to the internal and external knowledge base articles, wikis and forums
- Manage technical incidents according to processes & Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Future opportunities to participate in weekend support roles
Required Skills:
- Good understanding of relational databases and SQL
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Networking technology awareness
- Good knowledge of Windows, Unix or Linux operating systems
- Ability to work well in a dynamic team environment
- Fluency in written and verbal English
- Consistently conveys a positive and professional image
- Passion for technology
Desired Skills
- Experience in SAP technologies
- Familiarity with programming languages such as JAVA/C++
- Fluency in a second language such as German or French

Ideal Candidate:
Bright, articulate and motivated students who are currently on course for a 2:1 degree with the following key competencies:
- Business, accounting ,IT experience / working knowledge would be an advantage but not essential
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Especially Excel)
