About GSK

One of the world’s leading healthcare companies, GSK discovers, develops, manufactures and distributes life-saving vaccines, prescription medicines and consumer health products such as Maxinutrition, Sensodyne, Savlon and Panadol.

The size and scope of our organisation allows our people to answer some of the biggest questions facing everyone on the planet – questions about future healthcare needs and questions about building a responsive, innovative, global business to meet them – as well as questions about their own personal and professional growth.

Finance Internship

Finance in our business is not just about numbers. It’s about adding value and shaping strategy for the business. Our finance team works in partnership with the whole organisation to drive business planning, manage costs and maximise our cash flow. This helps us to generate new revenue for investment in research and development (R&D) and enhance returns for our shareholders.

What you'll learn

We offer summer placements that typically last 10 to 12 weeks. These are aimed at students who have the skills and experience to add value to our company, as well as the potential to build a long-term career with us.

We offer a wide-range of finance summer placements, with experiences in different business units and exposure to many different finance roles. You'll do a real job, with responsibilities and deliverables, whether you're embedded within our research and development (R&D), commercial, manufacturing or corporate functions. Throughout you'll be part of our global finance community, with exposure to senior stakeholders, gaining a solid grounding in financial management and business awareness in a fast-paced, global organisation.

What you'll gain

You'll be working somewhere that’s deeply committed to personal and professional development – offering a range of ongoing and tailored learning opportunities. You'll earn trust and respect, and have the chance to develop your career in a company spanning an incredibly diverse collection of businesses and geographies. You'll also have the opportunity to flourish in an environment where personal growth plays a vital part in the changing face of the business. Most of all, you'll enjoy the sense of purpose that comes from working in an industry that touches the lives of millions of people every day.

The skills you'll need

We are looking for undergraduates in any year of study expecting to achieve at least a 2.1 degree (or equivalent) in any discipline. You should have strong communication skills and be passionate about working in a collaborative team environment. We are looking for people who are analytical, conceptual and who have the discipline to lead by example. You will be working in a fast-paced and challenging environment so it is also important you have a flexible and objectives driven working style
