One Year Business Placement
What is the One Year Business Placement?
Essentially, this is a sandwich year. A chance to build on and complement your studies by gaining practical experience. On our programme, you can develop a broad range of professional skills and experiences while working with a wide variety of people within KPMG. You can look forward to both technical training and personal development opportunities that will help equip you with the skills you need to succeed in your future career. Not least because you’ll be working on real projects with real impact.
What you can expect
We offer four distinct programmes on the One Year Business Placement. Join our Tax – Capital Allowances programme and you’ll work alongside surveyors, tax advisors, accountants and property professionals to assist companies and individuals in analysing their fixed asset spend in a whole range of different ways. Or elsewhere within tax, you could apply to our Tax Global Mobility Services (GMS) Technology programme, which offers a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in one of the world's leading tax and advisory organisations. The programme will give you an insight into a career within tax and business advisory.
You might spend your year in Technology Consulting where you’ll build on your skills and knowledge in one of the following technology areas: Technology Risk, Information Protection (Security), Data Insights Services or Intellectual Property and Contract Governance. Or alternatively, within our Audit team you’ll get exposure to a broad range of work, allowing you to build up both area expertise and client relationship expertise too.
Who’s it for?
Smart, ambitious and career-focused, you should be on a degree programme that gives you the option of undertaking a year-long business placement. As a general rule, you’ll be expected to have at least a grade B in GCSE Maths and English and 300 UCAS points (or the equivalents). We only consider your ‘top’ three ‘A’ level grades and don’t accept General Studies. You should also be on course for a 2:1 degree in any discipline. However, it’s not just your academic performance we’re interested in – we’ll assess your application by combining a number of different factors.
