I really liked the Spring Week! I learned more about secure coding through Secure Code Warriors in a fun way. I was really impressed by all the work that was put into the event considering the Covid-19 pandemic. I was able to learn more about J.P. Morgan, like how they were going to become more sustainable by focusing 100% on this goal in 2020. What I also enjoyed very much was the tasks we were given on InsideSherpa because they taught me a lot as well.
I enjoyed the virtual experience as I really appreciated how interactive it was! However, for me personally what I wanted to see from the Spring Week that I did not get was the atmosphere of working in the different divisions, which of course could unfortunately not be shared via zoom. The way that the different days were all about a different sector of J.P. Morgan was also something that I found helpful and really enjoyed.
The insight provided a really good insight into J.P Morgan, and the financial services industry as a whole. Originally, the Spring Week was supposed to be in person, but due to COVID-19 it was moved onto a virtual platform. Despite this, I think I still managed to get a good insight into the firm as a whole. It was lovely to meet others who got onto the programme and learn more about what a career in investment banking actually entails.
I really enjoyed the insight programme. We were able to cover the three main divisions as well as have an informative panel sessions. This meant that any queries we had got answered. The insight programme was virtual due to Covid, however it was adapted in a way that was still valuable. I think the fact that it was a new topic and agenda each day meant that it was engaging and enjoyable as you were learning something new everyday.
Despite it being a virtual insight scheme, I found the experience to be very interesting. I developed a high level knowledge of how the different aspects of IB fit and work together. It was also very exciting to see how JP Morgan valued sustainable investing and ESG and is continuing to pursue the cause. Moreover, it was nice to connect to other attendees virtually and build a network of students who can help each other when we apply for internships etc.
I immensely enjoyed the insights I have received. I found it valuable to listen to different JPM employees. I found it quite useful to hear what they had to say about the culture and the work they do. Work culture is quite important in my opinion to be a happy employee. It was interesting to see what the employees did on day to day basis to decide what I would like to do in the future. However, I would have preferred if there were more opportunities to chat with different employees in smaller groups. Maybe through zoom/ google meets as face to face connection is qutie important.
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight, given the knowledge I was able to build on a variety of financial topics during Spring Week. Furthermore, the fellow interns and employees I met, were truly inspiring and very cooperative people. All in all, Spring Week 2020 was very value-adding for me, as I made the decision to pursue a career in Investment Banking, based on the vast opportunities and interesting daily business. It was an insightful and at all times pleasant experience to work at the firm.
The insight week is extremely well organised and the lecturer explains things very well. All people from J.P. Morgan are really kind, helpful and enthusiastic about their jobs, they gave us insights with respect to the company, application process, entry position, graduation program etc. In addition, other candidates are really smart and from diverse background, diverse culture, which makes the interactions definitely interesting and enriching. All the lectures were recorded and so we could go back an rewatch.
I really enjoyed the virtual experience of the internship. It was very helpful in terms of being able to catch up and do my own work. I was able to meet an abundance of new people and network extensively, so that the connections will stay after finishing the internship. I profited from a good insight on Investment Banking and Markets and was given very useful resources to work with. So far it's been very fun!
I really enjoyed the Spring Week! I was able to gain more insight into secure coding through Secure Code Warriors in a fun way. I was also positively surprised by all the work that was put into the event to ensure that participants could enjoy it as much as they can despite the Covid-19 pandemic. I was able to learn more about J.P. Morgan, like how they were focusing on becoming 100% sustainable in 2020. I also enjoyed the InsideSherpa task we were given because they provided a scenario which could really occur in JP Morgan.
The insight was very beneficial for me. As a student with a non-finance background, I had the opportunity to learn morea bout the financial industry and its different divisions through various panels from the firm's employees. Moreover, the training offered throughout the programme was helpful and helped me to develop a sound understanding of financial markets, capital markets and the use of Excel in finance. The support was available throughout the program and we even had some post-programme sessions.
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight week and learnt a lot from Fitch Learning building upon my knowledge of the investment banking industry. I enjoyed the Q&A panels with J.P. Morgan employees the most hearing about their personal experience with the firm and the role they do.
The virtual experience allowed me to gain a very good insight into the company structure, values and what sort of projects I would be working on during my time there. I found the Q&A sessions very informative and enjoyed the use of InsideSherpa and Secure Code Warrior to help me refine my skills and build a basis for the skills I need to work on ready for my year long placement. I thought the idea of allowing participants to actually contribute to code that the company uses daily (via GitHub) to be an interesting concept and I look forward to putting in some of my own contributions in the future.
In general, it was a lot better than I expected it to be given the circumstances. I gained a lot of knowledge about the company and its culture. Everyone was very friendly, both the recruiters (which were also very helpful after the scheme finished) and the speakers. The atmosphere they created during the Spring week was better than the atmosphere at some other firms I did a virtual programme for. T I especially liked that everyone was very honest and ready to help and answer all the questions. It was great to have people from the industry talk about their journey, especially the ones that just got their jobs because I could relate more to them!
I enjoyed the virtual experience quite a lot. It was something very different to what I'm normally used to so it was really fun. It was focused on software engineering which really appealed to me as it is something quite different and while I was learning more about it, I really started to love it as I started to draw connections between software engineering, daily life and the world of economics, which is the field I aspire to enter.
