Chalkboard Kenya

Chalkboard Kenya is a six week creative teaching experience in Kenya. We offer six subject specific placements in Maths, Science, Music/Dance, Art/Design, Nursery and Physical Education.

Our aim is to develop the learning potential of young Kenyan children whilst releasing the teaching potential of the world’s future teachers. We link aspiring teachers with Kenyan children in need of an education, whilst promoting new and exciting teaching styles and techniques.

Chalkboard Kenya is a demanding programme, giving you great responsibility at a young age. We believe this is the best way for you to develop on a personal and professional level. You will need to be passionate and committed.

We are about excelling and inspiring, you will bring back amazing amounts of knowledge; because of this we are looking for the most passionate and capable young people.

The selected applicants will be teaching in a school in Busia, Kenya, on the site of an orphanage- Mama Orphans Children’s Home. Busia borders Uganda to the west and Lake Victoria to the south. It is an area of real natural beauty with much to see and do during weekends off.

Chalkboard Kenya is a social-enterprise with charity status.
