The internship was a fantastic opportunity to see into a large company like National Grid Learning how the business system works and how information is exchanged will benefit my career in the future
The work placement was enjoyable and i made some good friends on it There were plenty of other students doing a placement and lots of social events organised for networking I will be looking into a graduate scheme with National Grid
A placement with National Grid is invaluable Firstly if youre a Engineer especially Electrical they sit in a critical role within the UK as the key to the power industry Highly respected internationally having this company on your CV will make a huge d
very good indeed
This has been the best internship I have had by far The work required us to connect with multiple parts of the business and gave a good insight into how projects are delivered
I really enjoyed it The company has a welcoming atmosphere most people were quite keen to speak to you and you certainly didnt feel in any way inferior just because you were an intern Once we actually got into our project I found it really interesting
I found the background and initial work given on the placement to be really interesting However due to the nature of the work which required lots of modelling tasks were sometimes repetitive and lackluster Nevertheless there were many opportunities
I enjoyed my work placement very much due to the wide variety of areas I was able to work in which was interesting throughout the 8 weeks I worked there
Team was great fun and the project work was of a high responsability
Although a little slow at times I did enjoy my internship a lot
Undertook RD which was enjoyable Also got out on site to take measurements for our experiment
I had a very enjoyable placement It was very beneficial for me as it was the first time I got to experience what its like to have a real proper full time job My project was very interesting and I was warmlywelcomed into the System Design team
Very good placement I had an eight week placement involving a real mix of declines that will benefit my growth within the engineering and business world
It was ok not much work to do but people were friendly
My internship was split into two 4 week placements one in Leeds and one in Boston in the US I enjoyed both however the work I was given in the US was the same as would have been given to a permanent junior engineer therefore I really enjoyed the chance
Overall I had a very enjoyable placement though feel there are some areas that could be improved including setting more challenging objectives
From the very first contact I had with National Grid it was clear that they invest heavily in their student development programmes I was given real responsibility and a project to initiate and manage myself over the course of twelve weeks The company
I had a thoroughly enjoyable time The work was interesting and real not just something to keep me busy for 12 weeks I worked on my project with one other person and we really got along which added to the enjoyability
