Placement (10 Months+)

What placement scheme were you a part of?

Supply Chain IP, now Supply Chain UFLP

What is your current role?

SC UFLP – current rotation: Customer Operations Strategy Planner

How has your placement helped you in your current role?

I was able to soak up a great deal of knowledge of the business and industry and gain opportunities such as meeting senior leaders and working on exciting projects that prepared me for the graduate scheme that I am now on. I also improved my communication and problem-solving skills which have been vital for success post university.

What has been the highlight of your placement?

The people! – making connections and friendships with likeminded people from all over the world (and the free ice cream of course).

What have been your biggest challenges and how did you tackle them?

I have been set some ambitious targets during my time in Unilever, to try to achieve these I would always lay out a clear action plan, align with my line manager and seek support from those around me. It was important to challenge the status quo and try things in a new and different way to help drive results and achieve my goals.

What 3 words best describe your Unilever experience?

Insightful, Inspiring and Energising.

What advice do you have for any future Unilever employees?

Keep an open mind and be constantly curious! The best way to get started is asking lots of questions to learn about different products, processes and roles and find what you are interested in and will therefore enjoy.
