Placement (10 Months+)

What has been one of your biggest achievements this year? Give a couple of sentences describing the task and how you achieved it.

Being able to see my skills grow and develop throughout the course of placement. One of the key ones being project and stakeholder management. Having led projects both in sodium reduction and new innovation, I had to scope and develop and work cross functionally with other individuals to timely deliver against priorities.

What have you learnt from the FirstGen placement scheme that you will take forward into university and your career?

You are in control of your own development and never be afraid to ask questions and be curious. Will definitely be taking away the transferrable skills that I’ve learnt during placement especially time management and being adaptable to different situations when I’m back at university as there will be different modules to keep on top off. The technical knowledge that I’ve gained during placement will come in handy at university too and further in my career as I aspire to work in the food industry.

What have you enjoyed about your placement year at PepsiCo?

The endless opportunities and involvements project and non-project related but if anything, the community of people that I work with have truly been the highlight. It has been great getting to speak to individuals of different background and getting to know other placement students as well 😊

What opportunities were you given this year?

Having the chance to lead my own projects and trials whilst also working alongside colleagues on other projects. Also had the chance to travel to Italy with work for a trial that I was leading which was an amazing opportunity!
