Ballin’ On A Budget: The Festive Edition

Alt Text!

It’s December! Which only means one thing… CHRISTMAS!

The festive season is a time for eating chocolate for breakfast and secretly trying to feel through the wrapping paper to guess what you have waiting under the tree.

More importantly though, it is a time to be together.

This year, we know that the financial crunch is going to be on most people’s minds. But, it’s still important to be able to enjoy Christmas with your loved ones whilst remaining budget conscious.

Read on to discover our team’s top five festive activities that won’t break the bank.

Tats says: Visit ALL the Christmas Markets

“This year Christmas markets are back with a bang. Not only are they the perfect place to get in the festive spirit, you can often get in with free entry too! Grab a hot choc, take a look around and find inspiration for homemade presents. Obviously, you’ll also need to get all those cute pics with friends. “

Catherine says: Host a Friendsmas

“Time to get that apron on! Get your friends together and cook a big delicious Christmas dinner, designating each person a different part of the meal. If you all split the cost, it’ll end up being a cheap one too. Now, pass us the mulled wine please…”

Anna says: Did someone say games night?

“This one’s free! Get everyone to dust off those board and card games and bring snacks for a games night. Monopoly, Deal, Cluedo and Pictionary are a few of our cult classic favourites. But, new kids on the block – Karen, Obama Lama and Priorities are fab too.”

George says: Christmas movies are a MUST

“Time for cosy movie nights in.. grab some blankets, light a festive candle and cuddle up. It’s Love Actually season and there are so many Christmas classics that are just waiting to be enjoyed. It’s even better when you invite some pals over to join in on the fun!”

Ella says: Try wreath making

“Deck out your front door with a festive DIY wreath. They’re super cute and easy to make so it’s definitely time to get crafty. Embrace your inner Little Red Riding Hood and grab a basket – you can find tons of foliage in your local park. Then it’s a case of finding a wire base and attaching it all on with some wire. Ta-da!”

From all of us at RateMyPlacement, we hope you have an amazing Christmas!
