    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed working in the vibrant and fast paced PR office for a month and it gave me a real insight as to what goes on be hind closed doors and everyone was very kind and welcoming

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues often gave me varied jobs to do and gave the correct praise or comments so I knew what I was doing right and wrong which enabled me to learn a lot while I was there. I was given my own desk and telephone and treated like one of the team which was nice

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • If ever there was something I didn't understand, my colleagues would always be there to explain or give me guidance or help. They were very helpful and explained things brilliantly. They would first brief me on a task and then I would get on with it but they were really quick and helpful to come over and help if I needed it

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • For the first two weeks I was working on one of the biggest projects of the year so it was non stop all day every day which I liked because the days went really fast. The last two weeks weren't as busy but I will still given a steady stream of work and often had 3 or 4 jobs waiting for me so I had to prioritise them accordingly which was sometimes tricky but helped me manage my time correctly too

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given quite a lot of responsibility especially with the company credit card so it was nice to feel that they trusted me to get these things right. I also had to ring quite a few important people and even managed to secure some leads for our clients in national magazines which was a great achievement

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I suppose I learnt quite a few transferable skills and got an insight into the media and PR world however, doing a journalism course, some of the PR tools and programs I learnt how to use wouldn't help if I wanted to be a journalist but there are many that would such as the importance of product placement,

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everybody was really busy so didn't really have time for general chit chat except a good morning and goodbye but this didn't leave me feeling lonely or bored at all, it just added to the buzzing atmosphere in the office as everybody was working really hard and determined to get the job done which was really cool. Everyone weekend to get on really well too and was quite casual with eachother which I thought was nixe

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I would say really well. Upon arrival we received a detailed welcome pack just outlining the main jobs we would be asked to do and the basic information about the office and was was expected of us. The team would have a briefing every couple of days just to check what jobs had or hadn't been delegated to me and how I was getting on with them which I thought was great as it meant I always had something to do and they were really taking my time there seriously and doing all they could to ensure I gained valuable experience

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • As mentioned before, the team spent a considerable amount of time ensuring that I had things to do and wanted to make sure I knew how to do the jobs correctly so I could take my new knowledge away with me. I would say they really invested their time in me as a work experience and helped me to develop my PR skills during the four weeks that I was yhere

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Travel loan

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • If a job became available at house PR after I graduated, I would not hesitate to go for it, the four weeks spent here gave me a great insight as to what it would be like to work there and I really enjoyed myself. I feel as though I fitted in rather well and judging by the positive feedback I rexoeved at the end of the four weeks I seemed to do well while I was there too. So hopefully there will be a job available next summer and I will stay in contact just in casez

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was one other intern while I was working who was there for the same amount of time as me. They sat us near eachother in the office so we could interact and it enabled us to help eachother out when or if we didn't understand something . We got on really well and often went out for lunch together and spoke about what we had been doing so far as we were always working on something different

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I stayed at home while I worked there because I already love in London so I only had to get on the tube to get to work each morning. Cost on transport was really expensive but luckily work gave me 50 a week to cover this which was just about enough. Socialising was very expensive in London which was why I didn't do it very much also I didn't finish until 6pm so often got home too late if I socialised after work

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife in London is great but as mentioned before very expensive so didn't go out kuch

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Not very many
