The Role
I loved my job! You work long hours but the reward is the satisfaction of the customer.
As this placement is run totally by students, everyone is in the same boat. Your team members become your friends and because youre with them 24/7, your family too.
Mummy and Daddy Roman are always keen to help with any problems. The other managers are former students so understand what you are going through.
We would be busy most evenings. During lunchtime it could be pretty slow, in the kitchen there is always something to do. Would always be able to do cleaning rota and other jobs though.
The Old Toad is considered to be "our pub"
this placement was perfect for my future career.
The Company
There was always something happening. The right balance of fun and work ethic.
Someone was there to get me at the airport and as this place has been running as a placement scheme for 18 years they are very used to the situation.
Appraisals were always in depth, training was done by previous employees and therefore you get to learn as you go.
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
This is a placement opportunity only, although they do sometimes take on past crew as management.
The Culture
Friends became my second family.
Cost of living in Rochester is relatively cheap, depends on how you do for tips!
There are a few bars in Rochester, bout you are close to other cities and attractions.
The boys have a football team and there are gyms and clubs at the local universities.
