The Role
I really enjoyed this placement
The collegues i got to work with were very supportive, always answering any questions I had and helping me get a full rounded experience of a full time commercial role in marks and spencers.
There was a really useful structured learning and development pack put together which enabled me to work alongside my supervisors to make sure i got the best out of the year.
Very busy, but this was a good thing as i was involved in many different aspects of what the store had o deliver on a daily basis and the best way to learn is by doing.
I was given a lot of repsonsibily, which is what i found great about this placement as i felt i was able to gain the managerial experience I wanted by being given this responsibilty.
As said above I got a truly rounded year where I covered all aspects of business everything from people management to operations and finace.
The Company
The atmospher in the office was great, I felt part of the team and we had a good balance between serious meetings but also a lot of fun as is needed when you work with each other everyday.
The structure of the learning and devlopment booklet really helped me as I could track my progress using this and us eit as a structure to ask my commercial lead for help and support on teh particular topics and how i go about dveloping this skill.
I wnet on numerous course through out my year! They were all briliantly designed and really enaging and always applied fully to role.
