    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The role was very diverse so I was involved in many different areas of the businesswhich kept it interesting!

  • I got on very well with my team and others in the office. Everyone is willing to help if needed.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given training by each memeber of the team and my manager is always on hand to help me if i need it.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • We have busy times and quiet times but if there is not a project you can be working on, there is always some analysis that could be done or you can help out on other accounts/documents/projects.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I have been given a vast amount of responsibility from running projects myself to taking charge of a document type.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think this will aid me with my studies as I have learnt a lot about information technology and how the business runs as a whole and within the department.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very welcoming and confortable. Always people around to chat to and it is a very relaxed atmosphere to working.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The assessment centre was run exceptionally well and was a very enjoyable day. When I arrived on my first day, everything was available so i could log striaght onto a computer and start my training.

  • there are online courses which you can access at any time in order to further your own development.

  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • A few students have come back after thier placement and seem very happy with this choice.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I get on very well with the other students in my office (although there is only 4 of us based in Slough), we regularly see each other outside of work and I live with one of them.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Rent is higher here than at university mainly due to being closer to London. Pub prices seem to be quite similar to at university (when it's not a student night).

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Not very much night life. Some events for employees have been held in Windsor and Maidenhead. We have organised a few ourselves too.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • The office takes part in a triathlon in Septmeber which is suppoerted by the majority of the office. There are not many more social activities except the Christmas party.
