The Role
The internship was massively enjoyable. The programme was well structured with a consistent and challenging work load as well as plenty of social events to get to know the other interns and meet people around the company.
From day one it was clear that the summer would be spent doing work that was important and valuable to the team and there was not one point where I felt the work I was doing was not worthwhile.
My manager and I arranged weekly 1 to 1 meetings to make sure that I was keeping busy and had the opportunity to voice any concerns or problems I was having with my work.
I had a constant stream of work and there was not one point over the 8 week period that I did not have anything to do. Side projects with other interns allowed more variation in the work we were all doing and meant that if ever there were slow periods in our day to day role then there was still something that we could turn attentions to.
The work that I was doing was integral to the team and on the whole I was allowed to get on with any piece of work I was given on my own from start to finish. That said, if I did have any issues with my work my team was always great with helping to provide solutions.
Organisation and a professional approach to work were vital elements of the internship, both of which are invaluable skills for study and moving into a new career.
The Company
The atmosphere was relaxed and open with everyone very happy to help with any problems you were facing. Everyone was very approachable and eager to give you as much of an insight into the business as possible.
The programme was well organised with plenty of side line activities which provided the opportunity to engage with other interns. The induction was set up well and meant there was an easy transition into our new teams.
There were insight sessions through the first few weeks aimed at giving the interns a better understanding of how the company operates outside of our individual teams. Rather than actual training sessions the main chance for development came from a general willingness from people to give you their time and knowledge if you ask for it.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
There is a good chance of getting onto the Graduate scheme from the internship and this is something that is made very clear.
The Culture
Very social with plenty of out of work events for the chance to meet new people and get to know the people you are working with better.
Central London
Central London
Plenty of opportunities for to get involved in sports within the company as well as a number of charity events happening for the duration of the programme
