The Role
The internship was amazing - there was so much to learn! For the four weeks there I feel I have gained great insight into the real estate industry and specifically residential valuations, in which team I was in. Throughout the internship there were different presentations to further boost our knowledge about the company as well as several networking events. I would definitely recommend this internship to everyone!
I felt very valued. I was given responsibilities from the start and even had the opportunity to join my team on their summer day out! Everyone I met in JLL were friendly, open and extremely helpful!
My supervisor was also great as he was always open to help if I had any questions. As a matter of fact, everyone in the team were really helpful and would never decline if I needed assistance.
Generally the work of a valuer is very demanding and requires strong time management and attention to detail, so usually it is very busy. I could have been busier but the time I joined the team was one when my colleagues were finishing reports and I was only doing parts here and there. However, the last week was very busy as I was helping a colleague who just started a new report, which gave me a flavor of how busy it can get.
I was giving enough responsibilities from the start and my opinion was also valued. I was trusted to do the tasks I was given which was really important.
Since I didn't have previous real estate work experience and come from a non-cognate degree the skills and knowledge I developed were extremely valuable. I believe that this was the best start to my career in this industry.
The Company
The atmosphere was amazing and everyone was super friendly.
It was good, especially given the fact that the structure of the internship was different from last year. As I said there were lots of different presentations about the company and several networking events.
I would say enough for the four weeks I was there. JLL invests heavily in new talent and especially in graduates.
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing - the company has a great graduate scheme and there are also on occasions opportunities for work experience in different departments. Furthermore the internship leads to a fast track assessment day for the graduate scheme for the following year, which is a great future prospect!
The Culture
Yes everything was great, everyone was really nice.
Having in mind I was based in the London West End office it can be quite expensive. Cost of living is .. London cost of living, no comment needed there lol Otherwise around the office there are lots of places to eat for every budget.
With West End and Soho just around the corner I would have to say pretty great :)
Yes, there was the Real Estate Triathlon and all interns were invited to join, and one of the interns actually participated :)
