    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I am usually not very generous with distributing stars, but 9 are certainly justified in this case. A&O really seem to be one of the best graduate recruitment teams in the legal world. The insight day was extremely well planned and organised; communication with the team was great before and after the event. We were able to receive proper work experience by shadowing trainees, which was certainly the highlight of the day. It was also a long day compared to other open days I've been to, including some activities differing from the standard ones.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Everyone I met really seemed to care about us students, despite us only being first years.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I always knew where to go and what was about to happen thanks to the fantastic team.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The highlight was the work shadowing, which is quite rare on open days. I certainly got a great insight into what a commercial lawyer's daily tasks look like.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The programme was extensive and varied. There was a good mixture between presentations, workshops and networking.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • It is certainly great that the firm continues to stay in touch with the attendees. We also received a lot of material and information about potential further applications to the firm for vac schemes or training contracts.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • During the work experience part of the open day I certainly got a great insight into the every day life of a trainee.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • As I have met and talked to different lawyers from different departments, I have certainly received a great insight into the company.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I now know what type of law firm I would like to apply to in the future.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There was a great networking lunch and a "speed networking" activity.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Very well organised. I am still in touch with one trainee.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • There was no real introduction into the firm, but we did an office tour where we viewed the facilities.

    3/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • It was certainly one of the best, if not the best, law firm open days I've attended.

    5/5
