About You
It was an amazingly worthwhile experience - it depends on your area, but in mine (Investment Management), everyone worked on a desk for almost all of the two weeks on the real floor, with only one intern assigned to each team so it was a truly immersive and worthwhile experience.
Fascinating insight, I loved my project and my team.
Depends on your team, but mine were thoroughly supportive and willing to give up their time to answer my questions.
Helped me through areas that I didn't understand and taught me the importance of presentation!
The Company
Really incredible - time on the desk was invaluable, and the desk insight sessions which each lasted an hour were amazingly helpful. The emphasis was on retainment within GS and on helping us find the area that we fit the best as opposed to a 'competitive'-type atmosphere.
Pleasant, warm, independent and success depended on you as an individual.
2 weeks of a desk, who would talk to me as much as I required and really helped develop my knowledge.
Really well - working on the desk was key to this.
GS has an amazing culture and all I want to do is go back next summer!
Extraordinary one-on-one continuous feedback, and amazing information sessions.
Everything Else
Paid travel to/from home and given a flat salary too.
Dependent upon the individual mostly, but coffees were very easy to organise and highly encouraged by the team!
Not many, but enough to get a feel for the different networks within the firm.
Gym looked great, as did the physio and other teams that GS runs (informally). Very good and active diversity networks.
Certainly - most useful insight I can think of!
