    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I was lucky enough to be placed in a relatively 'young' department and therefore it was a working environment and a social environment that was easy to settle in and learn from.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • As time progressed the amount of work and the importance of the work i was being given increased. My department made it clear they were happy and glad i was doing the work i was doing.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • We held meetings every 3 months. The people i worked for were very approachable and therefore I think the support and guidance, especially in the early stages when it was needed most was brilliant.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Certain times were busier than others, rarely I had to stay past 6pm but i was always kept occupied. I never had a boring day where i had nothing to do period during my placement.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As time progresses my level of responsibility increased. It wouldnt be wise for an employer to give their Placement student work of critical importance on their first day but in my case as the time progressed and a greater trust was formed then the level of delegation became greater.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Having a year of my APC done this year is invaluable as it provides me with a years head start ahead of the majority of university leavers. Also being able to put 12 months in a market leading company like JLL on my CV will increase my chances of success with whatever pathway i decide to make after i graduate. I feel I have learnt more in this placement year than i have in my first two years at university, and therefore I would highly reccomend doing a placement, and if possible doing one with JLL.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • A friendly atmosphere but a good working atmosphere where team work is actively encouraged.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The HR team did a fantastic job integrating me into the company and ensuring that I remained happy and on track during my 12 months.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They actively encouraged participation with lectures and courses to further my education. They also offered to send me on courses that would benefit my understanding and skills.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Travel loan

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would 100% come back to JLL if offered a permanent place. I can tell it is an ambitious company that has a very proud reputation as a market leader.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a large graduate scheme of around 50 students joining in the year when I joined. We had several organised events and I was included with the Graduate welcome week which was a great opportunity to make some good friends and have alot of fun.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Being located in a very central London location meant it was expensive to go out, even for a drink. The company did take me out for lunch and drinks on several occassions.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Very good! But expensive due to the fact it is central London.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There was several clubs and societies. I took part in several sporting events during my time at the company.

    4/5
