The Role
Very much enjoyed worked in a great team and have had an invaluable experience. Got to enjoy being in lots of different projects that would affect Lloyd's as an organisation.
Extremely well valued got to work and assist on lots of different project and assist in team work where my opinions were listened too.
Lots of support with always the availability to ask managers questions at any time they were available and would never turn me away. Also weekly catch ups gave me the availability to air views in a meeting format
Projects were always on going to there were plenty of things to be getting on with. I was generally busy most of the time.
Lots of responsibility as I had been involved with a lot of project work that effect Lloyd's decsions
I couldn't give any more support to this statement. The skills you learn are invaluable, they really set you up for the final year of university as you'll be more organised professional and much more focus on the tasks in hands. Along with all of the business skills you'll be able to take back to interviews and future careers which you can't get from university work.
The Company
Mostly positive atmosphere in the office, there is always somebody to help when you require assistance. High team work is encourage so there is a good friendly atmosphere.
Quite well organised had contact from manager before start date so all small queries were resolved. During placement you had a good flow as each different month in the role you could adapt and improve on skills and gain responsibility. Also major reviews happened quarterly so you could keep monitoring the progress.
Got a lot of training in the first couple of months which was crucial to the role and then did die down after. However, there were monthly team training on skills such as IT, professional communication skills, how to be better analyst roles. Also with the constant development brought greater chances to develop especially when presenting to managers and higher quality of work. Would have liked to see more external training, but believed what was done internally was of good quality.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Very appealing have received an offer to the risk graduate scheme and have taken up the offer.
The Culture
Within the office there were only two other placement students and between us we enjoyed regular nights out. Would have liked to seen more of a get together with all the placement at the group.
Lived at home so cost of living was cheap for me and that also made socalising easy
Nightlife ok in Wolverhampton. However, team went to Birmingham for nights out around once a month so that kept the social environment even if it was expensive to get back.
Nights and meals out were a regular occurance
