About You
My time at Jones Lang LaSalle was incredibly enjoyable. Everybody made me feel very welcome and I felt settled from day one.
I felt that my contributions were valued and I helped the team. I think this was because the team I worked in believed I could make a positive contribution and so utilised my skills effectively.
I was working with a graduate who was about to take his APC. We spent a good amount of time going over key concepts and then I would have a go at the work. There was also support if I needed to ask for help & I felt comfortable in the fact that no question was a stupid one!
The work experienced I gained was incredibly valuable. I am now studying a MSc in Property Development that is RICS accredited. I am able to draw examples from my work experience to support my academic learning.
The Company
Very well structured. I enjoyed the fact that from the very first day I was involved in the work & wasn't just seen as a spare part.
Good atmosphere. I think the office in general, and the team I worked in specifically were very busy at the time, but this was good as I think this is part of the reason I was able to get involved with more.
I was only at JLL in total for 5 weeks so I'm not sure there was a great deal of time. However on both placements, I had a go to person that taught me a great deal and helped me with anything I didn't understand.
A good insight into this. Again because I was involved in everything including team meetings etc, I was able to envisage what it'd be like, especially in a graduate role.
I think I had a good idea of the company culture already from research and the experience supported this. However perhaps 5 weeks is too short to really know?
It reinforced my wish to train to be a Chartered Surveyor so yes it was helpful. I think one of the most useful parts was having the balance of talking to senior surveyors and graduate surveyors & asking them about their roles.
Everything Else
It was amazing to be paid! Really helpful & needed as I was travelling to London from near Brighton everyday. I was also reimbursed for any site visit travel costs.
Yes, both teams i worked in organised lunches for me to meet people from the wider teams or other teams. Created a welcoming & social vibe.
Good. As above really, they made me feel welcome & allowed me to contribute more as I felt I knew everyone much quicker.
Yes. Charity work and sporting activities. At the time the property triathlon was on which sounded amazing.
Yes.
