The Role
I had an extremely enjoyable experience on my one month internship at JLL. I felt welcomed not only by the team I was put into but by all colleagues at the company and was always greeted by someone with a smile on their face.
I was never not busy. Every member of my team wanted to help me learn from my experience and offered up work for me to get on with or to join them on visits outside of the office.
If I was ever troubled by any work I was getting on with, I felt comfortable asking either my buddy or assigned supervisor for help.
I always had something to do, whether it was researching comparable evidence or on visits outside the office.
During my first week of my internship I dealt with a client on my own, this demonstrated to me that the company wanted me to gain as much exposure into the industry as possible. Throughout the rest of my internship I was left to get on with work by myself and also spent a lot of time in the presence of clients.
I have been able to bring lots of knowledge from my internship back to my studies. This includes current market trends as well as agency techniques and the formatting of different types of reports and head of terms.
The Company
There was always a buzz around the office and I was always greeted with a smile. Everyone always seemed to be enjoying every task they tackled.
The internship was very well organised. I was issued with timetable of events on my first day so I always knew where I was meant to be.
The company put on a presentation skills day for all the interns which I found highly insightful.

The future employment prospects within the organisation are highly appealing. JLL is somewhere I can see myself fitting in and enjoying the job I do.
The Culture
I was responsible for setting up an intern email thread after we were introduced to each other. This resulted in regular lunches with the other interns and drinks after work.
Being in London it was not a surprise that socialising and travel costs were high. However this was expect and did not pose much of a problem.
There were plenty of different choices of pubs and bars in the immediate area.
I was given the opportunity to represent JLL playing cricket. I took up on this offer and found it a great way to meet other people in the business.
