    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • It was an amazing experience, with the opportunity to meet many employees of the firm (from analysts to partners). The timetable was extremely well prepared and there were many networking opportunities.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt extremely valued. We were treated as one more employee of the firm.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • We all received full time support from the Human Capital Management team, as well as guidance from our team leaders (two associates) and our buddy.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt both soft and hard skills during the insight. We received a one-day training on valuation and accounting, and we had to develop our soft skills all along the two weeks.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Completely structured. Timetables were given to us the first day, and there was no time lost. The only thing is that sometimes events had to change last minute due to the availability of bankers participating in the event.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Great. Everyone is extremely nice at Goldman Sachs.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We received a training and continuous feedback.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Due to compliance reasons, the IBD Spring Insight does not have work shadowing. However, through the case studies and speaking with analysts, we could see how it would be to work at the firm.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Totally. We had two week where we could speak with anyone we wanted of the firm in order to fully understand its culture.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • During the day, if you like what you do and hear, and you are looking forward to the following day, that means that your future career path is in investment banking.

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was paid (around 400 pounds/week) and reimbursed expenses (travel and hotel) during my stay in London.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Many networking opportunities, from junior to senior bankers.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Great for networking, maybe a little overcrowded sometimes.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • We had a whole networking event on what associations were available at the firm.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Definitely. Three main reasons: 1. It is the broadest insight possible (the only two-week Spring Insight). 2. It is division specific 3. It is at the best firm
