    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed working with people who were experts in the field of Computer Science and knew as much about the financial business too. I loved working in between the two.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was given a project that would help my entire team and I was constantly approached by my team who kept a check on how I was doing.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The HR department was one of the best things about the internship. They were always just a message away and we had several events that were organised for the interns so that we could get to know more about each other.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It was a normal 9-6 job and I wasn't super busy, but, yes there were times.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I had a whole project to myself. So, I would say I had a lot of responsibility.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The technologies I coded in are helpful on me even today as they were state-of art and quite new to the firm as well.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was quite formal. You could see people pushing themselves to work harder.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was quite well structured.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had training so a whole week, considering the internship was only 10 weeks long. I would say it was lot.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I have been given an offer to come and join Goldman after I graduate so, I would say quite appealing. You get to go to New York for 2 months for the initial training which is quite amazing I would say.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, everyone was working hard in the office and wanted to unwind at the end of the week. So, we would end up going to a bar or a pub every week.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It was a tad bit expensive for a student life but, if you work there then , its fine.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The office was right in front of St. Pauls. It had amazing bars.

  • Yes, I was involved in the Tennis club and the football club as well.
