The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed my internship, there being a good balance of work and learning. The environment was conducive for personal growth with various training programs and speaker series designed to help interns.
My team had the culture of "throwing interns into the deep end of the pool" which worked out well if you are inquisitive and willing to work hard to become comfortable in your role. Delegation of responsibilities a few weeks into the program showed they were willing to give you ownership of your time spent.
I was never turned away by any colleague during my time interning. Scheduled meetings with managers and associates from other sub divisions just for a casual "catch-up" and all were willing to take time off to share what their team was about and give career advice.
With daily line work and additional projects, I was kept fairly busy. If there was any free time, it would be spent meeting other colleagues and interns to expand my scope of knowledge.
Varies from team to team. Certain teams delegate responsibilities to interns when the specific task is manageable.
Technical skills aside, the soft skills learned and just being able to "work" within a team was greatly valuable, gaining the experience of a professional setting.
The Company
The culture was generally uplifting where the office had an open office concept with managers sitting among their teams. This allowed for frequent and effective communication within teams and between teams.
The internship was well structured, with a detailed calendar laid out from day one with frequent updating so as to keep interns informed about new events.
For me, technical training provided my team was the most beneficial in my personal growth during my time there. Having a daily role in the line work also allowed me to piece the puzzle together and construct a holistic view of my role.

Future employment is highly appealing by industry standards.
The Culture
Frequent after-work drinks and events scheduled by management as well as on our own.
Being in The City, rental tended to be on the steep end. Compensation more than accounted for it.
Numerous pubs and clubs in the vicinity.
We took a day off for "Community Team Works" which brought us to the outskirts of London for a day of community team building activities.
