The Role
I very much enjoyed it. Working in London is a great experience.
Having been placed in a small team, I was valued once I had the appropriate training completed. Once I got to grips with the work I was assigned, people from other teams approach you for your assistance which is a great feeling.
I was always provided with the correct training before completing any work - if there was anything I was not sure about then I simply asked the appropriate person where I got my issue resolved. There are multiple support groups outside of your immediate team such as a mentor, buddy, or directly contacting your recruiters. People want to hear about any concerns you may have.
Initially not very busy as I had to be trained up and gain knowledge of the infrastructure, however after a few months and responsibilities built up - I found myself wanting to push myself further to get the work done above a standard.
While I was given some responsibility in my first few months, but nothing compared to towards the end where I had a lot of responsibility. This responsibility makes you strive to push you further, while gaining experience at the same time.
The team I was placed into was not entirely what my course was about - but it was still relevant slightly. I feel that in technology it is important to adapt to other areas and this is the main skill I worked on. While expanding my knowledge of an area that I did not know much about.
The Company
Very professional, neighbours and colleagus are talkative and everyone gets along with everyone,
Along with your own work within your teams, you have sessions with other interns/placements to network and work on projects to help develop your soft skills. I noticed some clash of workload between intern projects and work projects where there seemed to be a lot of work at one time, appropriate feedback was provided to help prevent this in future.
Having come into the business not knowing anything about their infrastructure or the team I went into, they put in a lot of time to ensure I was trained up.

The company focuses a lot on personal development, after all their number one asset is their employees.
The Culture
Networking sessions were set up by the programme to which from there we became friends with one another and set up our own social events.
I live in London with parents so cost of living was cheap.
It's London so nightlife is one of the best in the world - comes at a price though!
There are several clubs within the organisation which are available to interns and placements.
