The Role
I really enjoyed working at Goldman Sachs this summer. I found the work I was giving was both challenging and stimulating, something I was really looking for in my internship.
I was placed onto a team for the duration of my internship. They made me feel very welcome, and were always happy to answer my questions.
We were given a buddy within our team, and a mentor from outside our team for our internship. I found their advice very useful, and they were always happy to help me, for example, by listening to me run through my project or putting me in contact with people.
Everyday was very busy. I was never bored, and there was always something else I could do to help the team. It really made me feel like I was adding value to the team.
During my internship I felt I was given a good amount of responsibility, including speaking to clients and writing meeting notes for the team.
We received a lot of training, especially in the use of excel, which is something I haven't had to use in my degree. I also feel I gained presentation skills, as I had to give several presentations during the internship. This was both individually and in groups.
The Company
I felt there was a good balance between people being able to chat and work.
The internship was extremely well organised. We had a week of training at the start, followed up by various talks throughout the internship. This included video links from the New York office.
I felt the firm invested a lot in all their interns, for example, with the training. I felt a lot of time was spent making sure we really got to know the firm.

Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
I received an offer and will start in July.
The Culture
There were a lot of interns who were of a similar age.
Since the internship is in London, it is relatively expensive.
As it was in London!
The firm put on various events throughout the internship. We also did one day of community work wading through the Thames, which was actually a lot of fun.
