The Role
Great experience for my career with really good people to work with. Work to do 90% of the time. Long drive to work however
Everyone approachable and happy to explain any work and had confidence in me to carry out tasks.
Directed to the right people for each task and everything explained when needed.
Sometimes no work to do. Mostly due to no work being available as we were up to date and waiting on documents, quotes etc.
Left to place and sign off orders and compare quotes individually. All work checked and discussed with peers.
Great practice of skills and insight into basis if some modules. Lots of skills developed that would not have been developed at university.
The Company
Friendly people with light hearted atmosphere. Work place allowed you to carry out tasks and stay focused by liaising with others.
Sent to different site, the site had not been informed. Week of work therefore missed and new site arranged last minute. They did however accommodate me to best of their ability.
Supervisors always tried to find me work and tasks to complete and varied the jobs I was doing so I experienced various aspects of the job. Placement booklet provided by the company allowed me to keep track of my progress.
Travel loan
Future placement opportunity and graduate job. Hopefully potential to progress through the company. Company has career plan in mind for me.
The Culture

Motorway project, nothing much in surrounding area. All social activity within office.
No nightlife, motorway site little in surrounding area.
Cricket night put on (I was on holiday) but no continual activities outside of work.
