The Role
My colleagues were extremely welcoming and friendly, I had a varied range of work tasks
I believe that my colleagues valued my contribution to the project, and quarterly reviews seemed to suggest that this was the case.
The support I received throughout my placement was fantastic. My line manager always gave me time to explain work, or answer any questions.
My days were very busy facing problems that needed to be solved or confronted immediately on-site. However my supervisors ensured that I was given time to complete University assignments or professional development objectives (ICE).
I was given a range of responsibilities throughout my placement, and the opportunity to be responsible for a team of engineers.
The experience I received on placement was invaluable in completing my third year university studies. Not only this but a practical understanding of teamwork and leadership theories and communication skills are transferable to many business sectors outside of construction.
The Company
Friendly and helpful.
Very well organised.
I received several training courses throughout my placement, and felt that the company were willing to invest early on in my career to develop me as an individual for possible future employment.
