The Role
thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent on the job and learnt a lot on the short amount of time I spent there.
Thoroughly valued, treated as a member of the time not just a visitor.
They treated me as a fellow member and gave me guidance and support as well as treating me as a friend and not just a colleague.
Very busy but in a good way as it enabled me to gain a great insight to the industry and also made time seem as though it was flying by for my working day.
A surprising lot more than I anticipated as I was left in charge of certain aspects of the build than were minor in the grand scale of things but valuable none the less and if I was to make a mistake it would have impacted the build.
I learnt a whole lot more than I could sat in a lecture on my placement and a lot of the experiences on site have already given me a great standing and help with coursework's that have been handed out.
The Company
A good laugh and great craic with colleagues but obviously work has to be done to a deadline so a great balance.
There wasn't so much of a structure for my summer placement but the people on site more than compensated for this by always providing work for me to do.
Investing in me both monetarily as well as time as they are more than willing to give their time for any questions or queries I have or have had in the past.
Travel loan
If I can maintain or improve my grades then there is employment with the company after my degree.
The Culture
I was close friends to a person that is on the same course as me in university that definitely eased the transition into the working world as I didn't feel like an outcast so to speak.
A popular and fairly large city so not cheap but not as expensive as say London.
I live locally and sometimes have nights out etc. to the area I worked in and I know from personal experience it is incredibly varied with something for everyone.
Plenty of activities available to participate in.
