    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my time working at JLL. Even though our team was very busy and I was working long hours, I looked forward to getting to work everyday. I was learning a lot and developing my skills enormously, as well as having a lot of fun.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt hugely valued my the team, and even though I was only an intern I felt included and appreciated.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Endless! As I was a non- cognate I didn't have much property knowledge, but they were so patient and kind and explained anything I asked.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was very busy, but I enjoyed that. I could see that the rest of the team was snowed under, so was happy to be able to help ease their work load.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I felt like I had a huge amount of responsibility during my placement, and that I was trusted to complete the work I was given.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • We had a really useful presentation skills training day which will always be useful, as well as the property knowledge that I also developed.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Friend and fun, yet professional.

  • Very well organised. We knew what we were doing and what was expected of us.

  • We had a lot of training and I felt that they were keen to help us as much as possible.

  • I would love to go back to JLL and hope to be successful on their graduate programme.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, both organised by the company, and by ourselves.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It was central London, so to be expected. The company paid for a lot.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The offices are next to Soho, so there was a great nightlife.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, although I wish I had taken a few more up.
