    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

  • Very little.

    1/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Although I was given support by my line manager, it took her a while to realise that I wasn't learning anything from the role I'd been given.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was mostly bored.

    1/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • It felt like the office was creating pointless jobs just to keep me busy. Most of the time I had nothing to do, despite asking colleagues if they needed help with their work

    1/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Not at all

    1/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Dull.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I was allocated to a role in HR in which I really couldn't develop or learn anything. I understand that the internship programme intended for us to experience new working environments, but it should have at the very least considered our preferences insead of randomly allocating us to certain roles.

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Although my internship was not very fulfilling, I wa able to discover roles within the government which are of genuine interest to me, hence wish to apply here, even after the terrible work experience I had.

  • Yes, amongst the other interns.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • If you're smart with your budget, London is a manageable place to live. Rent, on the other hand, was extortionate.

  • Didn't really explore it.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
