The Role
I did not enjoy my placement. Very poor. The company were going through structural changes throughout my placement which means I unable to get involved in various tasks.
At the beginning the colleagues were friendly however as the structure changes came in I felt restricted.
I was not given as much support as I would have liked. The colleagues were interested in their job rather than supporting a placement student. Most of the work I picked up myself. The company is very unprofessional with no clear guidance.
I was not busy. By midday I would be bored.
I was not given enough responsibility. The placement had a poor structure I never got involved in anything interesting which would benefit me towards the future.
I was not given any training towards my degree. Their was very limited amount to get involved with. If their was something to get involved with then I would have to travel on my own to sites independently without any support from my line manager.
The Company
Very dull no one to talk too. The manager would be out most of the time. Sometimes I would be left on my own.
Very poorly structured. I did not learn anything which I felt that would benefit my degree towards the future.
They did not invest any personal training in me. I would not be given any feedback on any work I was given from my manager. She would just do it herself.
Subsidised Canteen
National Travel
Not appealing at all. I would not work their again. I feel they only care about making profit.
The Culture
There were other placement students in other departments which made it bearable to stay.
Cost of living in Worcester for reasonable
Nightlife was okay.
No opportunities advertised.
