The Role
Really enjoyable experience all round- enjoyed it more and more as I progressed through the placement and gained more knowledge and experience!
I feel I built very strong relationships with all the store teams I worked with, across various different stores. I was made to feel a part of the Commercial Management team, and felt well respected by the teams that I managed.
Had a graduate sponsor in store to help us with any queries and support we needed. The store manager and Commercial team were fantastic in helping with any guidance we needed, and pushing us to achieve as much as we could.
The more responsibility I took on, the busier I became, meaning that my days were very full towards the end of the placement. However I feel that this helped me get the most out of the experience, and I much preferred being really busy than having less to do which I did at the beginning of my placement.
Given responsibility of key projects during each attachment, including a satellite store opening which was a fantastic experience, My last attachment gave me the opportunity to take ownership of both a project and a team. Also given the opportunity to do holiday relief for Commercial managers which brought the role to life.
Applying my experience to theories will make things much easier to understand now that I can see the relevance to the business world, and my future career. Also feel I have gained key skills which will help me in my career and on a personal level.
The Company
Great- everyone was very friendly and supportive, very much a team environment. Although there were difficult times in the business during my placement, every effort was made to raise the morale in store.
Very well structured. Different modules to complete throughout the year, with a review and sign off at the end of each. Also given the opportunity to work in a variety of store types, and attend courses throughout the year which helped our development.
Although people were extremely busy they really made the effort to invest time in me. Courses were really useful and helped with my training also.

Very appealing, have been offered a place after graduation with a good starting salary and plans for future progression
The Culture
There were regular events/ courses which brought all the graduates together. We had a good social circle, more so organised by ourselves than the business though!
Lived at home so was cheap, and was used to the prices in Manchester
Great!
Charity work and events, award ceremonies, Christmas party, general socialising!
