The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Goldman Sachs - During my 10 weeks there I was exposed to senior employees and given tasks which had importance and added value.
I continually felt valued by colleagues, I was welcomed from the start of my internship and given a "buddy" to answer my questions and help get me started
My manager sat within the team, I felt the support and guidance I needed and was asked throughout if I had too much/ enough work on my plate.
I was busy and engaged thoroughout my experience both with my Summer Intern Project and also with team day to day tasks and learning about GS
I was able to add value through the industrialisation project I was placed on, also I was given responsibility on some new business - assisted by one of the experienced members in my team
I have definitely developed my organisational and communication skills. On top of this I have learnt the importance of being proactive and think this will help me to be more productive in my degree studies and further career.
The Company
A good balance between focus on work and friendly interaction within the team
HCM had organised a wide variety of speeches and Q&A sessions for us throughout the internship
I was given training my fellow team members and learnt from online training courses along the way
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
If offered, I would definitely want to return to the firm
The Culture
There were organised social events and network sessions organised throughout
The cost of working in Central London was relatively expensive
There are quite a few bars and restaurants around
Community Team Works day out gave a great opportunity to get involved in an activity outside of work
