  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Very enjoyable day that provided plenty of useful information about life about the firm and as a city lawyer.

  • Everyone was willing to take time out to answer questions and talk to you about their work - they went to every effort to make us feel valued.

  • They provided useful information about making an application to the firm, and it was useful to be able to talk to current trainees about their experiences.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The information will be very useful for anyone considering a career in a city law firm. The day wasn't especially directed towards helping with your studies, but the exercises in negotiation and networking are generally useful.

  • Very well planned and run.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • There was a good atmosphere, with the staff at A&O being very enthusiastic and friendly. Everyone got along well and bonded over the various exercises, and there wasn't a sense of competition.

  • The company helped develop various skills, and provided information that will be very useful in making an application to such a firm, or simply for deciding what to do with your career.

  • Besides the fact that the insight is short, they managed to give a full impression of what life at the firm would be like, and the various work that is done by trainees. Also gained a good sense of the other aspects to life there.

  • Obviously a gloss was put on the company, but speaking to the current trainees provided a good insight into how the company operates and what its values are.

  • Travel expenses were reimbursed up to a reasonable limit.

  • There was a reasonable opportunity to meet employees from the company, but networking wasn't really the focus.

  • There was a good opportunity to socialize - it was a theme throughout the day, rather than there being any particular event.

  • Yes - we were told about the various facilities at the company, and some of the things that staff there also get up to.
