  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Lots of variety in the work I was involved in, and felt challenged at times.

  • - Team/Project leaders took huge interest in the work I and the team were involved in. - Given responsibility from beginning of the placement - Involved with work that made a difference

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Support and guidance was always available from managers and rest of the department whenever required. Open door policy meant that I could see any of my seniors whenever I needed any clarification or advice. Regular meetings every month ensured I had the opportunity to discuss any problems and get feedback on my performance/ areas for further development.

  • Extremely busy at times, working towards deadlines meant I had the opportunity to develop my time management skills.

  • I was always involved with work that was in line with business needs.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As well as technical and analytical skills, I've developed other skills such as team working, time management. Communication skills improved as I was given the opportunity to give presentations, and often wrote reports on the work I did.

  • Everyone was friendly and approachable in the office, and willing to assist at all times.

  • There is an induction on the first day, where we're shown all the facilities. Training is also very well organised, allowing you to start working with minimal time wasting.

  • Training given where relevant in areas such as methods of analysis, good manufacturing practise, and others.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There are a large number of other placement students, usually living very close to one another. Events are organised so you get to meet each other. Team lunches/dinners/parties and away days also organised throughout the year allowing plenty of opportunities for socialising.

  • Free on-site gym membership Opportunities to do charity work Lots of opportunities to get involved with sports, nights out and barbeques with colleagues. the list is endless.
