    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Really enjoyed it, felt like I learnt a lot of technical and work skills. Great experience working with a global team of interns and nice to learn more about the industry and working in large organisations.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt like I was treated as an equal member of the team and as a result, I was given a lot of freedom to implement my project however I wanted.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My management was always happy to help me out and this was especially useful to speed up some processes which depended on other people.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • In general, I was quite busy which makes it interesting. On a few days, I found that I had to wait for other people in the organisation.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Quite a lot of responsibility, the design and implementation of my projects were almost completely my choice, this sense of trust was really motivational.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think this has been a really great use of a summer, the technical skills I learnt are probably not that unique however the work skills (networking with people, working with a global team, having to depend on people) are things that I think are unique to such a large organisation.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Relaxed but everyone is hard working.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • All events were very well organised. The work I was given also seemed to be well thought out and comprehensive.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Quite a few sessions about general internship development in the first few week however I felt there could have been more industry specific training.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Pretty average.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is expensive but that is expected.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • n/a

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Quite a lot of socials were organised however I would have liked to see some more variety in the events offered as most involved some kind of bar.

    4/5
