  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement as I was with two different clients over the three weeks.

  • I was asked to do different things by many people which made me feel valued.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Everyone made sure I was okay and helped where they could - regardless of their position.

  • I was as busy as I wanted to be. There was always someone with work that I could help with.

  • I was given the same level of responsibility as a graduate and often found myself talking with clients.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Audit goes hand-in-hand with my management degree and so it helped give context to a lot of my modules.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Many people had recently left university and so were a similar age to myself, making it easy to talk to anyone.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Before I started I was emailed by my buddy letting me know which client I'd be working with the first week and what I'd be doing. The people I worked with on the next client also emailed me beforehand to let me know what I'd be doing.

  • I was taught many basic auditing concepts and everyone was very informative of how everyday activities worked.

  • Everyone got the opportunity of a partner interview in the final week and I was very happy when mine was successful.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Most people go out to town on Friday nights and myself and the other interns were always invited.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • A night out in Cambridge was pretty standard prices. Not quite as cheap as student prices but reasonable.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There was a good scene whenever we went out on Fridays.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • My buddy got me on the weekly five-a-side football email and so were some of the other interns. Likewise we were invited to office events like scavenger hunts or leaving parties.
