The Role
It was a great experience, challenging work and nice people to work with not only in the regional office also around the globe
I had my own tasks and projects assigned to me. I have never been treated as just 'the intern' I have been integrated to the full extent into the team and I always had a feeling of adding value.
I hve always received the help and attention I required to perform my tasks. Everyone was happily helping me and explaining new tasks in details.
I was been kept pretty busy throughout the placement period. As I got better and quicker with my tasks I was constantly receiving new tasks and projects to work on. Quater ends in particularly were very busy, however there are also a couple of months which were relatively quite. During this times I had the opportunity to look into areas I did not understand and to improve current processes.
The responsiblity grew with time as I got quicker and better in my tasks. I understood that all of my work was very important and that I was responsible of reporting and submitting correct results.
I have improved my organisational, time management as well as IT skills. The busy work environment will help me to organise my workload better during my final year.
The Company
In general it has always been good and fun. At busy times the team would be stressed, however always friendly.
It was very well organised. We received an induction day in London where we had the chance to meet more than 300 other interns from all around the world.
I constantly received trainings. Furthermore many other onlie trainings were available on GS University website.

I would love to return to the company. I am currently waiting to hear back.
The Culture
There were 2 other placement students in the Frankfurt office. We instantly became friends and organised drinks for all other interns, Analysts and Associates from the local Frankfurt office.
Frankfurt is definitely much cheaper than London. I was able to live well from my monthly salary and save for my final year.
Not as good as in London, however ok. Occasionally certain clubs would organise 'afterwork' events where you get to socialize with other people working in different banks.
Working hours are relatively long, at times I did have no time.
