The Role
The placement was incredibly worthwhile. I got to be on a team with a real impact on the company, and work on real project.
From day 1 I was treated as a valued team member, I was given real life projects and my opinion was always valued.
Support was there when I needed it, however due to my small team size it was sometimes hard to find.
There was always something to work on or a meeting to go to. If I found myself with nothing to do, my manager would be quick to give me something to do.
I was given real life projects which were my responsibility to complete. It was my responsibility to ensure everyone was kept updated and that deadlines were met.
From this placement I have learnt valuable skills that will be transferable to my degree. I learnt to improve a multitude of skills from communication and presenting to organisation and planning.
The Company
Being a bank, there was a professional atmosphere, however everyone was helpful and happy to help.
The work placement scheme is well establish and the year is well planned to ensure you get the most out of the year.
The firm invests a lot into it's interns as this is their main employment pool for graduate places.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Healthcare/Dental
The interns are their main go to point for future employment.
The Culture
There were organised socials, but the majority of events were organised by the placements themselves.
I lived at home and commuted to work so I had no experience in this.
I lived at home and commuted to work so I had no experience in this.
The company and interns organised a whole host of events to get involved in.
