    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was great, much much better than what I'd expected before joining.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was treated as part of the team, not as if I was just an intern.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had fantastic support from my manager and the rest of the team. Upon arrival, my team took the time to teach me everything I needed and did not know - for the first few weeks to a month I was only learning new technologies and more advanced techniques - just like a one-to-one private tuition by somebody with 20 years of experience. Excellent!

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The days would go by very quickly, whcih means it was great fun and a prefect balance between being too busy and being bored.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I had applications I was in charge of, I became an expert in a certain field and a go-to person for some production issues - people with 10 years of experience were asking me how to fix some issues, just because I knew the application so well.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills and training I received will be incredibly helpful throughout my studies and going forward - I have learned so much about project and time management, personal skills, presentation skills, my confidence has grown by a lot. Overall, I am so happy I was able to gain all these skills while being an intern.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • We just stole some croissants from an empty meeting room this morning.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • We've had sufficient training and good balance between work placement projects and intern projects.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I felt great support from the firm in terms of picking up new skills - both technical and 'soft' skills.
