The Role
Enjoyable and learnt a lot but not always interesting work.
Small team. But often excluded from some more interesting tasks.
Rarely there and so set tasks and then expected me to do them. Never given quite enough to do.
Got through the work a lot quicker than employer expected, some dull periods.
Interesting work but committee work was left to senior colleagues. So mainly note taking in committee meetings and write ups.
Gained a really good insight into the workings of European politics and working environment.
The Company
Depended on the workload which varied.
Very well, not much paperwork either.
Not much but more on offer to non-French speakers who could join classes.
Subsidised Canteen
International Travel
Lots of internships and low paid assistant jobs. Progression not good.
The Culture
Really fun atmosphere, made lots of close friends and great nightlife.
Comparatively cheap compared to London, most people use houses shares.
Really fun and varied international scene.
Social, some sports like football.
