    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • It was engaging and challenging, but I had a lot of fun and in the end made valuable connections and awesome friends. A wonderful opportunity to learn a lot about what banking is really like and develop yourself as well.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I had the chance to talk to senior people in a both formal and informal environment and to ask them any sort of question and get the exact answer I need and in many cases even more. You felt that it mattered for them to make you understand how things work. Overall, they were nice and supportive, and made you feel like you were already part of the institution. The best insight and experience a student can have; fully enjoyed every single day.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Everyone, from the nice members of HR to Managing Directors to whom I had the chance to speak to, tried to answer every question you have and explain things even in more depth. When you didn't know what sort of questions to ask they helped you and explain enough that you have an idea about what things are like and be able to inquire about matters on your own. The shadowing trully showed you almost everything about the division you're interested in such as how it functions, what do they do, etc. At the end of the week we all knew we made some valuable connections and met some wonderful people, open and ready to help, teach and support you.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I learned are of great value in my everyday life and I am positive that they are helpful for both my degree and my future careers. During this week I further developed my presentation and interpersonal skills very much, my ability to react fast (during the trading game) and my analytical skilles (when we analysed the stock for the stock pitch). The diversity of the events was extraordinary and very much useful.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • You felt like you were indeed a valuable asset for everyone by the fact that so many employees were part of the program and sacrificed precious time for them just to talk to you, answer you questions or give insightful presentation. We all felt like BAML cares about her possibly future employees.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • It made me fully understand. All the trainings, and especially the shadowing and networking events gave us all a picture of what life in banking actually is like.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Before coming to BAML the culture of the company seemed an important part of someone's professional life but now I know it is vital and it can trully transform work. Very important and regarding BAML culture, only one word to describe it - wonderful. Everyone feels valued and gets all the support they need, from trainings to fun events, opportunities to do volunteering, courses - one just has to ask and every help will be provided.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Many opportunities with all kind of employees, from people that did graduate schemes to analyst and even managing directors. You got to find out things about every level of the banking hierarchy and ask any question you had. The most wonderful event was the dinner where you felt you could get to know the people behind the role. Got some precious advices for me as a person and my career.
