    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Enjoyed every aspect of it. I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the sessions on areas of the bank that aren't my first preference.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Throughout the week it was mentioned by everyone that we met from the bank that BAML really cares about you as an individual and your progression, not just as an employee but even as a Spring intern.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Guidance and support throughout. A lot of emphasis on asking questions to everyone that you meet, now and on the internship.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There were a few opportunities to develop the skills needed. But, where there could've perhaps been more, the continuous emphasis on the sorts of skilled needed and the skills you will develop on the summer internship definitely made up for this.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Very well structured to ensure as much exposure to all parts of the bank

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Everyone on the insight week got on so well and BAML were really successful in letting us experience the atmosphere they have. Just from speaking the employees you tell this atmosphere really did exist throughout.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The presentation skills session by Deborah Francis-White is probably one of the best presentations I have ever watched! Throughout the week we took part in several interactive challenge sessions assisted by employees. There could've perhaps been more but then it was only an insight week.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I think it was the networking opportunities with employees that was invaluable in helping us gain an understanding. Actually speaking to people about their role and asking questions was probably one of the most useful parts of the week.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • BAML puts huge emphasis on the company culture and it was obvious that it is fostered by all employees throughout the bank from speaking to different people.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The overview and panel sessions were useful however actually speaking to employees, as I've already mentioned, was invaluable in helping me decide.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Some other banks do pay their spring interns. I think it might have been 'nice' to have been paid to the amount of time participants give up but it's not necessarily necessary.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • I don't think there could've been any more networking opportunities! Networking was one of the most useful aspects of the week in terms of actually gaining an insight into what it might be like to work at the bank.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Networking over breakfast/lunch/dinner/drinks worked really well as the atmosphere is more relaxed and conversations felt more natural.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • As well as presentations and networking with the different business areas, the same was done for charity and networks at the bank. It's of growing importance to the bank and they really put across this message.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Highly recommend this insight because of the exposure to employees rather than just presentations about BAML.

    5/5
